The Atlantic Hotel joins Room to Reward

We are delighted to announce that we have joined Room to Reward. This unique initiative uses donated unsold hotel rooms to enable charities and communities to give ‘thank you’ breaks to their most inspirational volunteers.

The Atlantic previously donated a break as part of a separate initiative run by Room to Reward and becomes the first hotel in Jersey to officially join the charity.

Patrick Burke, Owner and Managing Director of The Atlantic, said: “We are very pleased to be joining this brilliant, unique charity. It’s a fantastic way of putting an unsold room to good use and recognising the extraordinary efforts of some wonderful people. We look forward to welcoming some Hidden Heroes for a well-earned break.”

Founded in 2015, Room to Reward now partners with over 550 hotels throughout the U.K. Both major groups and famous properties, like The Dorchester and The Savoy have donated breaks to over 1100 inspirational volunteers nominated by more than 600 charities and community organisations.

After the COVID-19 pandemic put the charity on hold for much of 2020, Room to Reward relaunched in early 2022 with a special campaign to recognise the importance and impact of volunteers over the last 18 months. Over 47% of adults in England informally volunteered over the course of the pandemic through activities like shopping for elderly neighbours, providing telephone companionship and collecting prescriptions.

Adam Terpening, Charity Director of Room to Reward, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome The Atlantic on board as a partner. To have the endorsement of such a prestigious hotel is a fantastic boost for us, as well as providing the nominated Hidden Heroes with another wonderful option for their break.”
