The Atlantic Hotel Joins Forbes Travel Guide
The Atlantic Hotel has become the first hotel in Jersey to join the Forbes Travel Guide Curated Collection, marking an important international recognition for the independently owned, family-run property.
The Curated Collection brings together selected luxury hotels in destinations where Forbes Travel Guide has not yet launched its formal Star Rating inspections. In order to be included, properties must meet the organisation’s foundational luxury criteria, with an emphasis on elevated facilities, amenities and the overall guest experience. The Atlantic now appears alongside just 33 hotels currently featured in the Guide.
Commenting on the honour, Patrick Burke says, “This is a very special moment for The Atlantic. Since my father opened the hotel back in 1970, our ambition has remained remarkably simple: to create somewhere that feels genuinely personal, while continually raising the standards of what we offer. Becoming the first hotel in Jersey to join the Forbes Travel Guide Curated Collection is therefore something we are enormously proud of. It is wonderful recognition for our team and, we hope, an additional opportunity to shine a spotlight on the island as a truly exceptional place to visit.”
Forbes Travel Guide identified The Atlantic as a particularly strong fit for the collection, citing its level of service, hospitality and guest experience.
That focus on guest experience has long been central to The Atlantic. The 50-bedroom hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and La Moye Golf Course, with accommodation ranging from guestrooms and Garden Studios to two luxury suites. Its facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa pool, sauna and gym, while the hotel’s ten acres of landscaped grounds look towards St Ouen’s Bay.
Dining is another major part of the hotel’s identity. Ocean Restaurant, led by Executive Chef Will Holland, holds three AA Rosettes and showcases modern British cooking with a strong emphasis on Jersey produce sourced from the island’s coast and countryside. Holland joined The Atlantic in 2017 and was named Chef of the Year at the Hotel Cateys 2023.
Sustainability is also a long-standing part of The Atlantic’s approach. The hotel has a long-term focus on reducing its environmental impact, supporting the local community and encouraging guests to experience Jersey in a more responsible way. It is currently the only hotel on the island to hold both EarthCheck Silver Certification and Eco Active Leader status.
The property has accumulated a number of additional industry accolades over more than five decades, including four AA Red Stars and the Cateys Independent Hotel of the Year award. It is the sole Channel Islands member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and PoB Hotels, while Ocean is the only restaurant in Jersey included in La Liste’s 2026 Top 1000 Restaurants in the World.
The latest recognition adds another international distinction to The Atlantic’s long-standing reputation for independent luxury hospitality, while helping place both the hotel and Jersey in front of a wider global audience.
