The Atlantic Hotel team are in celebratory mood again today as they learn that Ocean Restaurant has retained its coveted Michelin star for the ninth successive year and sister restaurant  Mark Jordan at the Beach has retained its Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Patrick Burke, owner of The Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant and co-owner of Mark Jordan at the Beach said, “What an incredible week it has been, on Monday night we received the fantastic news of our continuing AA success and today we’re thrilled to have received confirmation that Ocean Restaurant has once again retained its Michelin star and Mark Jordan at the Beach has held onto its Bib Gourmand.  I am incredibly proud of our Executive Head Chef, Mark Jordan and every single member of our team. Together we are committed to providing the highest standards of food and service, all delivered with the utmost attention to detail.”

Mark Jordan, discussing the inclusion of a wide range of local produce in the menus of both establishments said, “We are very lucky to have such an abundance of fantastic fresh produce available to us here in Jersey which enables us to create interesting and imaginative dishes and keep the standard of our cuisine up there with the very best.”

Ocean Restaurant specialises in modern British cooking with the emphasis on fresh local produce and was first awarded its Michelin star status in 2007 having been singled out with a Michelin Rising Star in 2006. Mark Jordan at the Beach offers a more relaxed alternative in an informal setting and was first awarded Bib Gourmand status in 2012.

The Michelin ‘Red Guide’ remains the yardstick by which all UK restaurants are judged. Referred to as the Oscars of the foodie world, stars are allocated to restaurants after extensive impartial inspections.
