Eat Jersey 2024 raises more than £7,500 in aid of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust

The Atlantic Hotel is delighted to announce that this year’s Eat Jersey Food Festival raised an outstanding £7,942 in support of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Held in March 2024, the prestigious festival showcased a five day gourmet spectacular featuring Executive Chef Will Holland and Head Chef Adam Braithwaite alongside a stellar lineup of renowned chefs. Among them were two 2 Michelin Star chefs, James Knappett, Chef and Co-Founder of 2 Michelin Star Kitchen Table in London, and Gary Jones, former Executive Head Chef of 2 Michelin Star Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire.

Since the inception of Eat Jersey in 2015, the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust has been the food festival’s philanthropic partner. The Atlantic Hotel has raised more than £55,000 in support of this incredible charity. Headquartered at Jersey Zoo, Durrell not only does vital work around the world to save species from extinction but is also a much-loved visitor attraction and community champion on the island.

Durrell’s mission focuses on protecting the most endangered species in critical habitats. Established by author and conservationist Gerald Durrell in 1959, the charity aims to create more diverse, resilient natural landscapes where species can thrive, and people can cultivate a deeper connection with nature. Its approach emphasises the rewilding of animals, ecosystems, and people alike.

Patrick Burke, Owner and Managing Director of The Atlantic Hotel, said:

“We are thrilled to have raised such a fantastic amount of money for Durrell again this year. The online auction held throughout the festival attracted generous bids from our guests, featuring fantastic lots donated by our partners and visiting chefs. Durrell is a charity close to our hearts, and we are committed to supporting them each year through Eat Jersey and our ongoing philanthropic efforts.”

The Atlantic Hotel extends heartfelt gratitude to all the participating chefs, generous donors, and its guests for their invaluable contributions to this noble cause.
