The Atlantic Hotel Becomes Jersey’s First Hotel to Achieve Eco Active Leader Status
The Atlantic Hotel is delighted to announce that it has become a certified Leader within the Eco Active Business Network, marking an important milestone in its ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility. In the same week that the hotel proudly reopened its doors on Friday 6 February following its annual programme of renovations, it also achieved this prestigious recognition, becoming the first hotel in Jersey to be awarded Leader status.
The Eco Active Business Network is an environmental management scheme designed specifically for organisations operating in Jersey. Membership demonstrates a clear commitment to reducing environmental impact through practical and measurable action. Leader status is awarded following independent third-party verification, confirming both the progress made and a sustained commitment to improving environmental practice.
Joining the network helps businesses to improve efficiency, reduce running costs, prevent waste, strengthen business reputation, demonstrate compliance with environmental legislation and reduce the risk of pollution or other negative environmental impacts.
A key element of the Eco Active Business Network is collaboration. Members are encouraged to share ideas, examples of good practice and practical solutions to environmental challenges. Through seminars, events and regular communications, the network enables Jersey’s business community to work together to continually improve environmental standards across the island.
Patrick Burke, Owner of The Atlantic Hotel, commented: “We are incredibly proud to become the first hotel in Jersey to achieve Eco Active Leader status. Environmental responsibility is something we take very seriously at The Atlantic, and this recognition confirms the progress we have made as well as our ongoing commitment to doing better. Achieving this in the same week as reopening the hotel after our annual renovations makes it particularly meaningful, as sustainability has been an important consideration throughout the process. We look forward to working alongside other members of the network to share ideas and continue raising environmental standards within Jersey’s business community.”
