Hospitality stars of the future to complete study programme at The Atlantic Hotel

A group of rising stars of the hospitality industry, who are studying for The Master Innholders' Aspiring Leaders Diploma, will spend their final two days of workshops in Jersey and will celebrate their graduation at The Atlantic Hotel on Monday 6 March. Current Master Innholders Chairman, Stuart Bowery, will be flying in for the night to present the diplomas to the successful students.

The Aspiring Leaders Diploma, which was launched in 2012, is a much sought-after qualification for junior level supervisors and managers who have been identified as future leaders of the hospitality industry. The delegates, who are invited to join the programme after a rigorous selection process, have to complete eight modules which are hosted at some of the UK's most highly regarded hotels. Chewton Glen, The Dorchester, the London Edition and the Vineyard at Stockcross have all hosted cohorts since the qualification was introduced.

'It is an incredible honour for The Atlantic Hotel to be selected to host the final training session and the graduation ceremony for this year's Aspiring Leaders Diploma, following in the footsteps of some of the most celebrated properties in the UK. The Master Innholders make sure that their Diploma students visit and study at hotels that deliver exceptional service and to be recognised as such really is a testament to the fantastic team at our hotel and the high standards that they deliver. For many of this year's cohort, it will be their first trip to Jersey and we're also looking forward to giving them an insight to the special characterisitcs of the local hospitality industry,' said owner and Managing Director, Patrick Burke.

Established in 1978 by the Worshipful Company of Innholders, the Master Innholders is a select group of the UK's best hoteliers who share a passion for delivering the highest standards of management and best practice. It aims to influence standards and extend professionalism within the industry; to promote considerations, study, discussion and research in the areas affecting hotel management including management development, training, education and recruitment.

This year's students include managers from some of the finest hotels in the country including The Ritz, the London Hilton on Park Lane, Pennyhill Park, The Grosvenor House and Brown's. In 2012 The Atlantic Hotel's Guest Services Manager, Rui Faia completed the Diploma.

Patrick Burke is the sole Channel Island member of the Master Innholders. Membership of the Master Innholders is a lifetime award and along with the exceptional honour of being granted The Freedom of the City of London, its members are elevated to Fellowship of the Institute of Hospitality.
