Russell’s career started at local country house hotels in Surrey and Sussex before spending 3 years at The Waterside Inn in Bray. He then moved on to L’Ortolan Restaurant in Reading where he worked alongside Will Holland.
He spent 3 years at L’Ortolan before moving to the Lake District and taking the position of Head Chef at the Gilpin Hotel near Windermere where he worked for another 3 years.
He is currently at Restaurant Andrew Fairlie where he holds the position of Senior Sous Chef, a role which he has been in since January 2012.
Russell describes himself as a family man and who has been married to his wife Elodie for 15 years. They have two boys Lucas and Liam. In his time away from the kitchen he enjoys running and cycling and enjoying the local Perthshire countryside.
