Shopping in Jersey

St Helier
A bustling town popular with both islanders and visitors and a must when shopping in Jersey, St Helier boasts two department stores, Voisins and de Gruchy’s, both of which were founded over 100 years ago by local families and now offer a wide choice of clothing and homeware. King Street is also home to many familiar high street names, while Halkett Place, Halkett Street and Beresford Street have a wide range of smaller specialist shops and designer boutiques.

The Central Market
Jersey’s public markets were first established in the late 1500s and thus feature very prominently in the history of the medieval town of St Helier. Today sheltering beneath a beautiful domed roof, the Central Market is home to a variety of specialist traders, including butchers, bakers, greengrocers, florists and delicatessens, as well as cafés and boutiques.

Beresford Fish Market
Originally constructed in 1841, Beresford Fish Market is a feast for the senses, with a tantalising array of fresh local fish and imported varieties.

St Brelade
The parish of St Brelade boasts several specialised shopping locations. Within a five minute drive from The Atlantic Hotel are two small shopping precincts with a range of shops including ladies’ fashion retailers, chemists, perfumery and cosmetics, a health shop, surf shops as well as both a barber and a hairdresser. A few banks also have small local branches and there is a sub-post office located in the Co-Op supermarket.
