Small Luxury Hotels of the World Appoints New Chairman

Small Luxury Hotels of the World today announced the appointment of Patrick Burke as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. Mr Burke, who is Managing Director of Jersey's Atlantic Hotel, succeeds Jonathan Slater of the Chester Grosvenor who has stepped down after a three year tenure as Chairman.

Mr Burke's association with Small Luxury Hotels of the World began in 1993 when The Atlantic Hotel joined the brand of SLH. Mr Burke commented "It is a great honour to have been selected as Chairman of the Board by my peers. SLH is a tremendous brand – growth remains robust and the value and results that SLH brings to its member hotels continue to go from strength to strength. When The Atlantic Hotel decided to join the brand of SLH in 1993 there were only 65 hotels in 12 countries and now the SLH brand has over 370 hotels in 60 countries. As Chairman I am committed to ensuring that this upward trend continues and that SLH becomes the luxury hotel brand of choice for both consumers and hoteliers."

In a recent survey, The Luxury Institute in America named SLH as the number one luxury hotel brand in terms of exclusivity and worthy of a price premium. Recognition such as this is a true testament to the individual hotels and the experiences that they deliver time and time again. SLH prides itself on the fact that it maintains a rigorous selection process, which ensures that only hotels with the very highest standards are accepted as part of the brand. An average size of 55 rooms enables staff at SLH hotels to consistently deliver a personal and exclusive service. As a result, guests and travel agents alike can be confident that the 375 hotels within the SLH collection will continue to deliver the luxurious and quality experiences that the brand is renowned for.
