Ocean Restaurant Awarded Three AA Rosettes
Ocean Restaurant at The Atlantic Hotel has been awarded three AA Rosettes for culinary excellence in the new AA Restaurant Guide 2006 – one of the highest accolades it is possible to receive. The Atlantic's restaurant previously held two AA Rosettes.
This authoritative guide – published on 15 September – features descriptions of the food on offer at more than 1,800 restaurants throughout the British Isles, all selected and inspected by the AA. AA Rosette Awards from one to five have become the UK benchmark for food quality in restaurants, with leading chefs recognising the impartiality and authority of the accolades.
AA Chief Hotel and Restaurant Inspector, Peter Birnie, said "Less than 10% of restaurants in the British Isles are awarded rosettes of three or more – these are the best in the industry and very worthy winners. Each is outstanding in its own way, and I pay tribute to the consistent excellence they achieve."
Patrick Burke, Managing Director of The Atlantic Hotel said: "All of us at The Atlantic are thrilled to receive this significant accolade just months after the launch of our new restaurant, Ocean. This award is a tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our team, in particular Head Chef Mark Jordan, Restaurant Manager Sandro Tiboni, and of course General Manager Jason Adams. I congratulate them on their achievement."
One of only two hotels on the island to receive a four red star grading from the AA, The Atlantic is the sole Channel Islands member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and was recently named Pride of Britain's Hotel of the Year 2005. The hotel has been in local family ownership since it first opened in 1970.
