Atlantic Gains Excellence Through People Award

The Atlantic Hotel has been awarded the Excellence Through People good business practice certificate. This award recognises those tourism and hospitality employers who have adopted employment practices which match the best in the industry.

The Atlantic’s new General Manager, Jason Adams, identified Excellence Through People as a key objective when he joined the hotel at the start of the year. Mr Adams said, “This award will benefit the business in many areas including staff recruitment and retention, health and safety, and training and development.”

Excellence Through People is a nationwide programme which is managed locally by the Jersey Hospitality Association. Establishments agree to adopt a ten point code of good employment practice and are then independently assessed against it.

One of only two hotels on the island to receive a Five Sun grading from Jersey Tourism, The Atlantic has been in local family ownership since it first opened in 1970. Managing Director, Patrick Burke said ‘This award is another milestone in our efforts to constantly raise standards here at The Atlantic. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful team of staff and are committed to providing them with the best possible working environment in every sense.”
